Our Student Council met with a Councillor from South Dublin County Council at the end of November. The Student Council members gathered questions and issues of concern from their classmates before the meeting. On the day, we were very excited to meet with Cllr. Trevor Gilligan. He told us a little about how Local Government works and asked us about our roles and how we were elected. We brought lots of issues to Mr. Gilligan's attention, such as broken street lights, graffiti and rubbish, requests for more local amenities etc. It was a really enjoyable experience! I wonder will any of us become Councillors in the future?
